I found the novel to be rejoicing and I like how inventive and creative the characters were. The author produced a creative mix of fiction, virtual reality and possible real life situations. The plot is creative with everyone trying to escape reality and how the world actually is. The deluded thoughts of the characters that prospered and failed. For those that were left in crisis their only escape is virtual reality. The culmination of all their efforts was suppose to make their troubles obsolete and to make them better off. The group of main characters that succeeded and won the golden ticket left the rest of the people in the dust. This group of characters are no better or worse than the owner James Halliday, who collected all the money from the game and never shared with others. Not only that, they took all the funds from the OASIS company which destroyed the immediate future of virtual reality world and leaving the virtual market in havoc.. The thing I can relate to is being the winner and leaving everyone else in the dust, as did the main character of this novel. When I played soccer and I would make the winning goal I left everyone else in the dust. When our team would win what I didn't realize was instead of giving credit to myself, I should have credited the whole team. The whole team won. And the team pushed me all the way through to do it. They helped set up the goal and prevent others from interfering with the game winning goal. When we won, the few that scored assumed that the we ourselves were the only true victors but in reality the entire team were all victors. The tenaciousness of the main character and how it controlled him was also representing his stubbornness. he didn't try getting the money to help out the world, he did it to be rich. As in many cases, this was no exception, and I got $ 200 to spend on my cousins for Christmas. Almost like any other person who gets lots of money, I spent it on lavish items and my ignorance was shown when I spent all the money on myself. I was no better than the supposed protagonist, I was careless, tenacious and most of all stubborn and when I was given free will with the Christmas money. I had failed to do my intended deed with the money that was to me by my parents. I became aware of my ignorance and realized my selfishness which prevented the true purpose of the money was for my family. In the story, they were all mostly from rugged living environments and their only goal was t o find the hidden loot, and once they go it, like any other person who gets a tone of money they ended up spending it carelessly.
